1 John 5

4: For Whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world:
and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith.

5: Who is he that overcometh the world, but he that believeth that Jesus is the Son of God?

12: He that hath the Son hath life; and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life

These verses in John 5 point out two important things for a Christian; a purpose and a definition.

The Purpose: Christians are to be overcomers and New creatures through Christ.

The Definition: Who is a overcomer? He that has the Son of God living inside their hearts. For they have put themselves above this world and have gained eternal life .
