Our Father is giving some insight into our walk with Him. He is telling us that we have something that the angels desire and that the prophets prophesied about and kept waiting to receive but never received. We have a living hope that can never spoil, perish, or fade - the Holy Ghost. He tells us that trials will come that we must go through so that others will see that our faith is genuine and will result in praise, glory and honor when Jesus is revealed. The first part will lead us wanting to be holy and live a holy life as Christ did.
Christ was the spotless and blameless Lamb that died for us. When we fully commit our lives to being holy as He was, we will have not a problem living for Him. Nothing in this world would be able to keep us from being sold out and being the example He really wants us to be.
